The French railway operator SNCF is the second largest landowner in the country, after the State and before the Church. Lafayette conducted an urban study in Chambéry for the SNCF, with the goal of enhancing the value of a 370m by 37m railway brownfield facing the historic Eiffel rotunda. The mixed-use complex marks the gateway to the city from the railways.
