With the objective of zero net artificialisation written into the national biodiversity plan, state decentralised services are examining the question of suburban neighbourhoods, not as yet the subject of any targeted public policies. Responding to signs of socio-economic fragility, the authorities commissioned a prospective study to tackle suburban deterioration and sprawl. As a result, local communities were equipped with a new tool to explore an alternative, sustainable course of action for their neighbourhoods.
