In 2021, the Ministry of Defence handed over military base 705 airfield to Tours Métropole. Selected for the masterplan competition, Lafayette led a European team bringing together high-level airport and urban experts to define the project narrative. The challenge was to transition away from the single use, mono functional enclaves of the 1970s to create urban continuity and a sense of place.
